MI TATARABUELO EXPONE EN EL PALACIO ALMUDÍ


Si, habéis leído bien. Acabo de salir de la inauguración de una exposición en el Palacio Almudí donde se muestra una maravillosa e importante obra de mi tatarabuelo Federico Mauricio Ramos. Se trata del boceto premiado del que fue el segundo techo del Teatro Romea. Existe otro boceto, algo diferente a este, que permanece en el MUBAM (Museo de Bellas Artes de Murcia)
Fue pintado en 1880 pero, desgraciadamente, se quemó en un incendio dos décadas después. 
Federico Mauricio pintó otros muchos cuadros e incluso trabajó de profesor de Arte. Por lo visto es algo que corre en mi familia:) 
He sentido una gran emoción porque he crecido viendo este cuadro. ¡No os perdáis la exposición!

Yes, you have read it correctly!. I have just come from the opening exhibition at the Palacio Almudí where is held a wonderful, important painting by my great great grandfather Federico Mauricio Ramos.
He painted in 1880 the second ceiling out of the three that the Romea Theatre has had up to now. Unfortunatelly, it was destroyed by the fire in 1899. Concretely, this painting is the awarded sketch  in a contest. There is another one, a bit different, located at the MUBAM (Fine Arts Museum of Murcia).
Of course, he made other marvellous paintings and worked as an Art teacher. It is something that runs in my family :)
I have enjoyed a lot. I stronguely recommend you the visit.

Edward Hopper

Lo sé. Sé que dije adios, hasta septiembre, pero acabo de regresar de Madrid de visitar la exposición de Edward Hopper en el museo Thyssen y quiero recomendaros que la visitéis si tenéis la más mínima oportunidad porque es estupenda, genial, maravillosa... I know, I know that I said good bye but I've just come back home from Madrid. I've visited the Edward Hopper's exhibition at the Thyssen Museum and I strongly recommend you to visit it if you have the chance because it's nice, great, wonderful...I'm sure you'll enjoy all his works a lot.
